Working on the rubber mats of a fast casual dining establishment means that you need to be fast-paced and able to navigate safely around a bustling kitchen. However, even if the setting can get hectic at times, food safety remains a high priority.
Because fast casual restaurants are meant to be quick and cheap, there is frequently an informal setup that allows guests to see the goings on in the kitchen. As a result, they may be more likely to pay attention to food safety practices. According to Food Safety News, 81 percent of respondents said that their perception of food safety improved when they were able to see how their food was prepared. It’s not as though they would be willing to let things slide, either. The news provider reports that 82 percent of respondents said that they were either “likely” or “very likely” to complain to a manager if they were not seeing the proper precautions happening in the kitchen.
According to Fast Casual, all employees should be trained on the proper food safety protocols, so they’re able to keep customers safe and ensure the highest quality of food produced. When all employees are on the same page, it will signal to customers that the eatery takes food safety seriously.
